What do you blog about?

We hear this question more often than you’d expect. It’s natural. What you do everyday seems boring. Mundane even. However, it’s not! Most of us have no idea what it takes to do what you do. Those of us who do are always looking for ways to improve. Share your expertise. Use these nine ideas to get your creative juices following.

A Day in the Life

What’s it like to be you or a member of your company? Select an individual and share a behind the scenes look of their day.

Your Best Productivity Tip

Do you productivity hack as much as we do? It’s consistently one of the most trending topics on social media. Chances are you have your own trick for staying on track. Share it!

Spread the Love

What’s one of your favorite industry blogs? Take the time to share why you love it and highlight a few of your favorite posts.

Worth a Read

Similarly to sharing your favorite blog, share a recent article your found helpful. You don’t need to (or want to) share the whole article. Simply highlight the important points, share your own perspective and link to the article.

Your Favorite Apps

Do you have a computer or smartphone app that you use regularly? Tell your readers about it! Put together a list of your top 5-11 apps (keep the number odd). Include a bit about why and how you use them.

Event Review

Have you been to a good networking event lately? Perhaps you participated in an industry tweetup or attended a useful seminar. Share a review. Let your readers know where the event took place, who hosted it, who was there and what you found useful about attending.

Q&A

This is a great way to highlight other successful professionals and share useful information with your audience. While featuring a direct competitor might not be the best bet, featuring someone who’s service augments your own is a great way to go.

The Best Advice You Ever Received

Most of us have had an “aha” moment. It might have happened while reading a quote. It could have been triggered by something a boss said. Share it! Tell your audience what happened and how it put everything into perspective for you.

Something You Learned From Failure

We’ve all failed. Often those moments are when we learn the most. It’s definitely scary to share your failures with the world. It’s also an incredible opportunity to explain how that experience made you better at what you do.

Wrapping it Up

The best thing about these ideas is that you can take different directions with them. They’re not a one-and-done prompt. You can use them again and again.

Which one will you use first? Pop over the Twitter and let us know. And, be sure to share your post with us once you publish it!
